LANDSCAPE DESIGN SERVICES

We provide landscape design plans and estimates. Due to the overwhelming demand for our skilled designers' time, we must charge for this service. We do offer you a way to receive a credit of the full amount of the design fee by purchasing plant material from the plan.

One of our designers can  meet you at your property to view and discuss those areas you'd like designed. The designer will prepare a detailed landscape plan, itemized plant list, and estimate of costs of materials and installation, then set up an appointment with you at the nursery to go over the plan and show you the suggested plant material.

The cost of this service is $100 per area designed in our immediate service area (Shrewsbury and those towns it adjoins). Higher fees apply for towns further away. Examples of different areas are the front of a house, side of house, perimeter, island, back of house. Each of these areas would require additional time to design, requiring the additional design fees.

With the purchase of $1,000 of plant material from an area's plan, we will credit back to you the $100 fee in full.

Should you wish a complete property layout, the fee would be determined by the designer at the initial meeting at your property. The minimum charge is $350, and a $350 credit would apply to a purchase of $3,000 of plant material. A higher design fee would require a larger purchase to qualify for the fee to be credited back.

The design fee must be paid prior to any plans being drawn.

We also offer on-site consultations where we can make recommendations but draw no plans for a fee determined by time involved.

Landscape Designer Horace Ames joined us in 2000 after serving over thirty years as a Grounds Superintendent for a large institutional concern. We’ve known each other for many years as we did business in his former position. We are very pleased that Horace has brought his years of experience to our customers.

Landscape Designer Gigi (Stowe) Desautels is back! Our Principal Landscape Designer in the 1980's and early 90's, Gigi returns to us on a part-time "consultant" basis in 2006 and we're thrilled to have her back. After leaving us, she established her own very successful landscape business, while remaining our dear friend and becoming one of our major customers. Gigi is available for design projects requiring a plan to be drawn.

Landscape Designer Julie Cormier is also back! Julie first worked for another nursery in greenhouse operations and then for nine years with us. She's back after a few years off. She is a Mass. Certified Horticulturist and is a graduate of the New England School of Floral Design.
